The Decision That Started It All
Over three years ago, alongside my professional career, I made a decision that I hoped would shape my future in a meaningful way — a personal commitment to deeply understand one of the most transformative technologies of our time.
I decided to fully immerse myself in Artificial Intelligence — not as a passive observer scrolling through headlines, but as a committed, disciplined learner. With a PhD in Electrochemistry and a career spanning R&D, engineering, consulting and programme management, I approached AI the same way I approached my doctorate — with rigour, curiosity and an obsession with truly understanding the subject from the ground up.
What followed was three of the most intellectually stimulating years of my life.
Going Deep
I didn't just skim the surface. I started with the foundations — Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Neural Networks, etc. From there I worked my way through Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Robotics and Expert Systems. I explored the technologies that underpin AI — how data is processed, how models are trained, how algorithms learn and improve.
But I didn't stop at the technical. I put everything into practice — experimenting with and applying a wide range of AI tools across writing, research, planning, automation and beyond. Learning not just how AI works, but how real people can use it effectively in their everyday lives and work.
I also explored the frontier — Generative AI, Large Language Models, Agentic AI and workflow automation. And I studied the considerations that matter just as much as the technology itself — ethical, environmental, legal and practical dimensions that anyone using AI seriously needs to understand.
It wasn't just theoretical study. It was immersive, applied and constantly evolving — pursued with the same discipline and depth I would apply to any significant professional endeavour.
Understanding the Bigger Picture
As my knowledge deepened, I found myself drawn to a broader question: where does AI fit in the story of human progress?
I studied the history of every industrial revolution — the first, driven by steam and mechanisation; the second, by electricity and mass production; the third, by computers and digital technology. Each one transformed how we work, live and communicate. Each one created winners and losers. Each one rewarded those who adapted early and marginalised those who didn't.
We are now living through the 4th Industrial Revolution. AI is not a future trend — it is the defining technological shift of our lifetime. Just as the steam engine reshaped labour and the internet reshaped communication, AI is reshaping everything. The difference this time is the pace. The speed of change is faster than anything humanity has previously experienced.
And with Artificial General Intelligence — AGI — no longer a distant concept but an emerging reality, the urgency to understand, adopt and use AI responsibly has never been greater.
AI literacy is no longer optional. It is the most important skill of our generation.
The Wall Nobody Talks About
Here is what three years of deep learning taught me — the insight that ultimately led me to build Prismvolt:
AI is not complicated. It's just been explained badly.
The jargon, the acronyms, the technical language — they create an invisible wall between AI and the people who need it most. Individuals trying to stay relevant in a rapidly changing job market. Small business owners who sense that AI could transform their operations but don't know where to start. Everyday professionals watching the world change around them, wondering whether they'll be left behind.
This wall is not inevitable. It is simply the result of AI being communicated by those who build it, rather than those who understand how to teach it.
With a background built on simplifying complex technologies for real-world application — across electrochemistry, engineering and programme management — I realised I was uniquely positioned to break that wall down. So I did.
Building Prismvolt
Prismvolt grew from a passion project into something I genuinely believe can make a difference. Built over three years of dedicated study and real-world application alongside my career, it was founded on a simple but powerful belief: that everyone deserves to use AI confidently, safely and effectively — regardless of their technical background.
The name reflects the mission. A prism takes a single beam of light and refracts it into a full, visible spectrum. That is what Prismvolt does with AI — we take the complexity, the density, the technical language, and refract it into something clear, practical and immediately useful.
Over the past year, I developed a series of courses — Beginner, Intermediate and Tailored (across a range of functional areas) — that take everything I've learned and transform it into language that anyone can understand. The content has been tested through multiple workshops, refined through extensive feedback and built on one non-negotiable principle: every concept must be practical, accessible and immediately applicable.
The response has been overwhelming. People are desperate to understand it AI. They are curious, slightly anxious and acutely aware that the window to get ahead of this technology is open, but won't be forever.
What This Means for You
Whether you are completely new to AI, want to build a solid foundational understanding, looking to use it more confidently in your work, or simply want to ensure you are not being left behind — Prismvolt was built for you.
The question isn't whether AI will change your world. It already is.
The question is whether you'll be ready.
I built Prismvolt to make sure the answer is yes.
